Chief Michael Edmondson, the son of Ronald and Sue Edmondson, is a graduate of Crossville High School and Gadsden State Community College, where he received an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice.  He came to work for the Sheriff’s Office as a corrections officer in May of 2000, receiving certification in jail management before being promoted to deputy in September 2001.  He graduated from the Northeast Alabama Police Academy in May 2002.  Three years later he was promoted to Sergeant, and to Captain of Patrol in January of 2007.  He became Chief Deputy in January of 2009.
