Three Arrested for Drugs
Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:
Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports the arrest of three individuals after the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office received calls about drug activity going on at a residence on County Road 568 in the Whiton, New Harmony area. DeKalb County Drug Task force and Geraldine Police Officers went to the residence to serve a felony warrant on Edna Renee Stapler, 43 of Albertville. When Officers and Drug Task Force agents got to the door they noticed a strong odor coming from the residence. At which time they secured the home, obtained a search warrant and after further search they found an active meth lab, materials to make meth and methamphetamine in the residence. Dana Paul Bearden, 52 and Jennifer Beth Rogers, 46 both of Albertville were arrested and charged with Trafficking Illegal Drugs, Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance 1st, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Stapler was also arrested for the felony warrant, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. All three individuals were transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center were they await bond. Sheriff Jimmy Harris states “these arrest was made possible because of all the reports of drug activity from the concerned citizens. The Geraldine Officers and the Drug Task force did a great job on noticing the strong odor coming from the house and getting these individuals into custody.
