                                   Jonathan “Tex” Langley Promoted to Second Lieutenant 

 

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:

 

                 Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports the Promotion of Jonathan “Tex”Langleyt o Second Lieutenant. Lieutenant Langley is a graduate of Fort Payne High School in 1996. Lieutenant Langley then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp after graduation and went to Paris Island for boot camp. Then to Fort Mclellan for Military Police training and then was stationed out of country. Lieutenant Langley was honorably discharged from Marine Corps and began working with the Fort Payne Police Department in 1999.  He then moved on to take Chief of Police job in Hammondville and worked for two years and then left to take Chief of Police in Sylvania in 2002. In 2007 he was hired at the Sheriff’s Office. Was made commander of the Mounted Unit in 2009 and then promoted to Sergeant in 2011. While working as night shift supervisor and Commander of the mounted unit returned to school and received nursing degree at North East Alabama Community College. He has also helped in the jail as a nurse when needed. He currently works second shift and still Commander of the mounted unit and also works part time in the Emergency Room at DeKalb Regional Hospital.
