Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:


                   Sheriff Jimmy Harris states that the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office is saddened by the death of Deputy Allen L. Kay (Nurse Kay). Deputy Kay was found in his camper at the Talladega Speedway Saturday afternoon after working a midnight shift security detail.Talladega coroner and Sheriff’s Office ruled no foul play is suspected, it appears to be possible heart attack. Deputy Kay has worked at the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office for 8 years in the Medical department of the jail, working daily taking care of the inmates. He was a man of integrity, a hard worker, and was well respected. He will be missed by the Sheriff’s office co-workers, family and friends. May God be with his family and friends during this tragic time. The Funeral arrangements will be as followed:

Rainsville Funeral Home, Inc     Tuesday, October 22nd from 4pm-8pm

                                             Wednesday, October 23rd from 10am-2pm
