DEKALB CO SHERIFF’S CITIZENS ACADEMY – SESSION 2013 COMPLETE
Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:
Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports that fifteen individuals recently completed the 2013 Sheriff’s Citizens Academy Fall session. The instructional classes covered everything from the administration operations of the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office to management of the jail. Classes were taught by staff instructors as well as guests who have special knowledge in their fields. The participants always enjoy the ride-a-long program and this gives them a new perspective of what really goes on in our community. Sheriff Harris said, “We are always glad to have people show interest in what we do here at the Sheriff’s Office. These people commit their time to this program and we enjoy letting them see for themselves what we do, how we do it, and why some things can’t be done. All of these graduates go back to their respective communities and let other people know the rules we must abide by. They also help us out in the form of community watch because they have a better knowledge of what to look for.” |
