                                                        Geraldine Homicide Update

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:

            Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators continue to pursue leads and process evidence in the Homicide of Gary Lee Willis, 38 of Boaz. This investigation is currently under way after the discovery of Willis’ body near Geraldine Tuesday. Agents from DeKalb, Etowah, Marshall, and Alabama State Fire Marshal are taking numerous statements and interviewing persons of interest in all three counties. Information is coming in and the case has developed over the last 24 hours.

            Harris states “We have evidence at Forensics now being processed as well as some new items being reviewed. We are getting help from the FBI on electronic devices and we have more evidence turned over today. We are hopeful this material will increase the strength of our case. We will continue to work hard till we close this case with an arrest. As we stated before, any information can be relayed to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office at 256-845-3801.”
