Drug Arrest Made After Routine Traffic Stops
Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:
Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports that on April 9th Deputies and Drug Task Force agents arrested three individuals during a routine traffic stop. Deputies got consent to search the vehicle, during the search drug paraphernalia and a gun was found. No one in the vehicle had a pistol permit. The driver of the vehicle Carlton Ray Liles, 52 of Fort Payne was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Carrying Concealed Weapon without permit. William Timothy Busby, 61 of Fort Payne was arrested for a felony warrant for drugs, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. Mikkie Rae Wells, 21 of Rainsville was arrested for a warrant for theft from Fort Payne Police Department, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance. All three was transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center were they remain awaiting bond. On an unrelated traffic stop on County Road 632 in Mentone Rickey Shannon Robinson, 20 of Fort Payne was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. After a consent search of the vehicle Deputies and Drug Task Force agents found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Robinson was transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center. Harris states “Both deputies Oliver and Bain did a great job of being alert on the fight against drugs in our County. It is a battle we fight every day and will continue to keep fighting this for our kids and all of the citizens of our County.”
