Month of November resulted in 23 arrested on drug charges

From the Office of DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden:

FORT PAYNE, Ala. - DeKalb County Sheriff's Deputies, Narcotics Agents and Criminal Investigations, Officers with Powell, Fyffe, Henagar, Sylvania and Ider PD's and Marshall County Sheriff's Office arrested 23 on drug related charged during the month of November.  We greatly appreciate you all and the working relationships we have with all of you. 

On Friday, November 3rd, DeKalb County Narcotics Agents were called to assist Officers with Powell PD with a disturbance call on Industrial Lane in Sylvania.  During the call, 40mg of methamphetamine was located.  Christopher Michael Cooper (34 of Fort Payne) was charged with Trafficking in any Illegal Drug (x2), Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (x2), Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Resisting Arrest.

On Monday, November 6th, Narcotics Agents, along with Marshall County Agents, conducted a search warrant at a residence in the Crossville area.  During the search, 5lbs of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found.  Terry Rowland Noe, Jr (36 of Crossville) was charged with Trafficking in any Illegal Drug, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and 2 warrants for Failure to Appear.

Also, on Monday, Narcotics Agents, along with Officers with Powell PD, attempted to stop a vehicle on Hwy 35.  The vehicle failed to stop, initiating a short chase onto Brown Street in Powell.  Kelley Wayne Anderson (46 of Section) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (x2), Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Attempt to Elude and 2 warrants for Failure to Appear.  MaCalian Raee Whitaker (32 of Section) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (x3) and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Tuesday, November 7th, DCSO Investigators conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 11, close to Dead Mans Curve for parking in the roadway.  During the stop methamphetamine was found in the vehicle.  Dustin Weathersby (40 of Lafayette, Ga) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Wednesday, November 8th, Narcotics Agents, along with DeKalb County Deputies and ADETF Agents conducted a search warrant on County Road 51 in Collinsville finding a trafficking amount of methamphetamine, as well as, marijuana, controlled prescription medication and drug paraphernalia.  Judy Lynn Hyde (51 of Collinsville) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (x3), Trafficking in any Illegal Drug, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Wednesday, November 8th, DeKalb County Deputies were on County Road 329 looking for an individual.  When Deputies arrived at the residence, a white male identified as Ozzie Brenin Rogers (28 of Crossville) answered the door.  Deputies placed Rogers under arrest due to him having active warrants.  Rogers was found in possession of marijuana and methamphetamine.  Rogers was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and 2 warrants for Failure to Appear.

On Thursday, November 9th, Officers with Fyffe PD was on County Road 342 when they noticed Bradley Dan Blackwell (48 of Fyffe) who had warrants with our agency.  After Blackwell was placed into custody, methamphetamine was located on his person.  Blackwell was charged with Trafficking in any Illegal Drug, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a warrant for Failure to Appear.

On Friday, November 10th, Officers with Henagar PD conducted a traffic stop at the Mapco in Henagar.  During the stop, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found.  Christina Mabry Johnson (47 of Pisgah) and Tony Lee Brown (32 of Section) were both charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Mark Anthony Collins (39 of Henagar) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Promote Prison Contraband 2nd.  Collins was found in possession of drug paraphernalia after arriving at the DeKalb County Detention Center.

On Saturday, November 11th, Officers with Sylvania PD conducted a traffic stop on County Road 102 finding the driver to be in possession of methamphetamine mixed with fentanyl.  Heather Ivey (28 of Rainsville) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Friday, November 17th, Officers with Ider PD conducted a traffic stop for a tag violation finding methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.  Crystal Morton Stevens (44 of Sylvania) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance.

On Wednesday, November 22nd, Officers with Sylvania PD conducted a traffic stop on County Road 570 finding methamphetamine in the vehicle.  Justin Michael Scott (35 of Collinsville) and Donald Wayne Smith (55 of Valley Head) were both charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance.

On Saturday, November 25th, DeKalb County Deputies, along with Narcotics Agents conducted a search warrant on County Road 784 finding fentanyl, methamphetamine, controlled medication and marijuana.  Bridget Lashae Mosher (33 of Henagar) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (x4), Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and 8 warrants for Failure to Appear.  Louis Johnny Pineda (47 of Ider) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (x4), Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st, Obstructing Government Operations and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Sunday, November 26th, Officers with Ider PD conducted a traffic stop on County Road 134 finding the driver to be in possession of fentanyl.  Nicolas Wayne Watts (43 of Sylvania) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Monday, November 27th, Officers with Ider PD conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 75.  During the stop, officers detected the smell of marijuana coming from within the vehicle and alcohol coming from John Paul Roy (43 of Henagar).  Roy was found in possession of methamphetamine and a controlled substance.  Roy was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (x2), Resisting Arrest, DUI (combined), Obstructing Government Operations and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

On Tuesday, November 28th, DeKalb County Narcotics Unit, along with Criminal Investigation Unit, conducted a search warrant at a residence in the Lakeview area after receiving information of elderly neglect/abuse.  Marijuana, synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found during the search.  This case is still under investigation after speaking with the elderly at this address and further charges could be filed.   Micah Leslie McNew (49 of Fyffe) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Elderly Abuse/Neglect 3rd.  John Dwyane Carter (58 of Crossville) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Brandy Danielle McCullars (age 46) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Thursday, November 30th, DeKalb County Deputies responded to County Road 52 after receiving complaints of drug abuse.  Ty Fuller Rooks (32 of Geraldine) was found in possession of fentanyl.  Rooks was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
