The theft took place September 6th and the property owner witnessed the suspects as they fled the scene. Investigators obtained warrants and Smith and Campbell were arrested on September 25th.

On September 28th Deputies arrested Robert Lewi Culbertson, 34 of Fort Oglethorpe Georgia and Larry Wade Grammer, 20 of Jacksonville on outstanding warrants for Guntersville and charges of Unlawful Possession of Prohibited Beverage for Culbertson and Minor in Possession for Grammer.

Also on September 28th Deputies arrested Anthony Shindaiwa Loftin, 19 of Valley Head after answering a complaint of Domestic Violence. Loftin was arrested for Domestic Violence 3rd after repeatedly striking a family member.

On September 29th Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle at a check point near Crossville. The driver was identified but fled the scene causing several vehicles to leave the road to avoid being struck. The suspect fled into Marshal County and the occupants fled on foot after wrecking her vehicle. The suspect jumped approximately 2 stories from a bridge as deputies tried to stop her but her clothing ripped and she fell, suffering several injuries. Janet Deann Walker, 39 of Boaz was transported to Marshall Medical South and later flown to Huntsville Hospital. Walker has outstanding warrants and has charges pending in DeKalb County for Reckless Endangerment times 4, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Numerous traffic violations.

Michael Alan Chapman, 46 of Crossville was arrested on a warrant for unauthorized use of a vehicle and Deputies found him in possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia during his arrest. Chapman is charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and the unauthorized use of Vehicle.

Deputies arrested two individuals after a disturbance call near Crossville. Deputies arrived along with a Geraldine Police Department Officer and found three persons at the residence who were reported to be trespassing. David Charles Walls, 29 of Horton was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Criminal Trespassing 3rd. Also arrested were Felisha Michaell Walls, 21 and Dalton Dale Taylor, 22 of Albertville. Both were charged with Criminal Trespassing 3rd.

These suspects were all transported to and booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center with the exception of Walker who remains in the hospital at this time.

Harris states “We continue to work with our local Police Departments all over DeKalb County as we make arrests for all types of crimes. Most of these cases involve drugs or alcohol in some form. I’m glad our officers were able to get these people off the street. I hate that the young woman was so desperate that she jumped off the bridge but our Deputies had her by the clothing trying to stop her. I hope she recovers and maybe this will turn her life around. You just never know.”
