Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports a Fort Payne man has been charged with Criminal Solicitation for Murder after DeKalb County investigators uncovered a plot to have a person killed. Joshua Kilgro, 41 of Fort Payne was charged Tuesday after evidence was presented to District Attorney Mike O’Dell and his staff indicating Kilgro contracted with another person to have a third party murdered, Kilgro is currently in the DeKalb County Detention Center on several other charges and the new charge carries a bond of $250,000. The investigation continues at this time as more people involved in the plot are interviewed. The proposed victim of the plot has been under protective measures since the first hint of danger and has cooperated with authorities during the investigation. Harris states “I am so glad we were able to get this information and take protective measures for the potential victim. There have been several hours of undercover work involved with this case and we are hopeful we have everyone involved identified. We appreciate the FBI once again for their assistance in this case. They bring a lot of resources to the table and are always helpful, whatever the case is.”
