Patrol

The Patrol Division is responsible for answering every call that comes to County 911 or the Sheriff's Office outside of the city limits. The patrol officers also serve civil papers, subpoenas, and felony and misdemeanor warrants. Our patrol deputies travel over 15,000 miles a week, answering between 150-175 calls across the county. Patrol deputies are also assigned to making sex offender checks. The officers transport inmates between court and the detention center, and transport federal inmates between Fort Payne and the federal facility in Rome, Georgia. Deputies work hand in hand with the Sheriff's investigators, investigating any crime that takes place. Deputies also work very closely with the county's municipal police officers in cooperative investigations.
