Two Arrested for Stolen Property and Drugs
Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:
Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports that on April 19th the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputies and Henagar Police responded to recover stolen property on Hilltop Road in Henagar. While investigating the residence officers recovered two stolen barbeque grills and a propane bottle. Inside the residence deputies and officers found methamphetamine, marijuana, and a large number of illegal prescription pills, along with loaded firearms. Jeffery Ray Clardy, age 37 of Henagar was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Justin Nicolas Hicks, age 21 both of Henagar was also arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Theft of Property 2nd, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd. Both Clardy and Hicks were transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center were they await bond. The property recovered was returned to the owners. Sheriff Harris states “Henagar Police Department, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputies and Investigators put in a lot of time and hard work to make this case come together. Its great having the working relationship that we do with Henagar Police Department and the other cities in DeKalb County. This makes all of our jobs easier working together in this manner.”
