For Immediate Release June 3, 2015 Three Individuals Arrested For Drugs
Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:
Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports the arrest of three individuals for drugs at two different locations. On County 9052 in the Geraldine area Geraldine Police Officers and Deputies went to serve an escape 3rd warrant on Jessie Moreland. When Geraldine Police and Deputies arrived at the residence they noticed people running out of the house. Chasity Clift, 24 of Geraldine was caught and found with drug paraphernalia in her purse. Jessie Moreland, 22 of Geraldine was found in the woods with a bag of white substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. Deputies and Geraldine Police got consent to search the residence. As a result of the search drug paraphernalia and supplies for using meth was found in the residence. Both Clift and Moreland was arrested and transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center where they remain awaiting bond. Chasity Clift was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Attempting to Elude a Police Officer. Jessie Moreland was charged with Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Escape 3rd Warrant.
On County Road 1996 in Sylvania Deputies responded to a domestic call. When Deputies arrived at the residence the victim was outside. When Jimmy Don Nunley, 48 of Sylvania came out of the residence Deputies noticed a strong alcohol smell and he was being uncooperative. The victim gave written and verbal consent to search the residence. As a result of the search Marijuana seeds and supplies used for drugs were found. The Drug Task Force was notified and Nunley was arrested with charges of Domestic Violence 3rd, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Interference with a Domestic Violence Emergency. Nunley was transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center where he awaits bond.
Sheriff Harris states “this is another example were police Departments, the Sheriff’s Office and Drug Task Force Agents are working together to make DeKalb County a safer place to live. I would like to ask the public to continue calling in any tips on criminal activity.”
