                                        Homicide Investigation

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:

            On February 25, 2016 at approximately 9:40am the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a possible home invasion and murder in the Kilpatrick community on Road 997. Once on scene officers found a deceased person in the home. Investigators are following all leads and interviewing witnesses. This is an ongoing investigation.

Sheriff Harris says “I would like to thank our deputies and investigators working this case alongside, the DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Task Force, Fort Payne City Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Geraldine Police Department, Crossville Police Department, and the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office for their hard work they have already put into this case and the work they will do to close this case. Also a thank you to DeKalb Ambulance Service and Kilpatrick Volunteer Fire Department for their assistance.”
