Man Arrested for the Murder of His Wife
Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:
After an investigation and following up on leads from the February 25, 2016 possible home invasion and murder in the Kilpatrick community on Road 997, Santos Mendez Ambrocio, 33 of Kilpatrick was arrested today for the murder of his wife Francisca Reynoso Perez also of Kilpatrick. Santos has been in the DeKalb County Jail since February 25, 2016 the date of the murder for Possession of Forged Instrument and obstructing justice. Since that time DeKalb County Investigators assisted by Fort Payne Police Department, FBI, and DA’s Office continued to gather evidence which led to the arrest of Santos for the charge of murder. Santos is being held in DeKalb County Detention Center on a $500,000 cash bond. Sheriff Harris says “for the past several months all these agencies state, local and federal agents have worked day and night to bring this case to this point. We are still working to try to see if there were others involved that may have helped Santos hide or destroy evidence.
