                           Several Arrested over the Weekend

 

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:

 

            On October 1st deputies was patrolling in the Aroney area when they spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen with the Boaz Police Department. At which time Boaz Police was called to the scene. Deputies talked to the driver Barry Dewayne Hughes, 37 of Boaz, about the vehicle being reported stolen, Hughes stated that he reported it stolen but called Boaz Police to let them know he found it. When deputies ran the tag is came back as stolen out of Albertville. Hughes was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property 3rd and more charges pending investigation.

            On a separate occasion on the same date Deputies, Ider Police, and Henagar Police responded to a disturbance call at a gas station on Highway 75 in Ider, and as a result Aline Elizabeth Perry, 36 of Ider was arrested and charged with Theft of Property 3rd for stealing a gun.

 

On October 2nd DeKalb County deputies made a traffic stop on County Road 179. Deputies and Crossville Police officer got consent to search the vehicle. As a result of the search they found the driver in possession of a small bag of marijuana. They also found a set of scales along with 2 syringes in the front seat and a pill bottle full of marijuana that fail out of the vehicle. Three individuals Ricky Lee Davis, 60 of Crossville, Jason Brent Barclay, 43 of Boaz, and Jasmine Noel Goins, 21 of Rainsville were arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They were transported to the DeKalb County Detention center where Goins was found in possession of 2 small containers one filled with meth and the other pills. Goins was charged two more counts of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Promoting Prison Contraband.

            On a separate occasion on the same date deputies made another traffic stop at the intersection of County Road 9 and County Road 34. Deputies got consent to search the vehicle and as a result they found a pipe, marijuana and methamphetamine. Steven Lamar Pritchett, 33 of Crossville was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

            Sheriff Harris says “as the Sheriff’s Office and local Police Departments work together on making these arrest, we continue to make DeKalb County a safer place to live, work and play.”
