                                    Search for Stolen Property Turns into Drug Arrest

 

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:

 

 

            On June 6th DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about stolen property at a residence on County Road 603. When Deputies and DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit arrived at the residence they found Heather Leann Guinn, 28 of Henagar to have a warrant for Failure to Appear. During the search no stolen property was found but they did find drugs at the residence. As a result Guinn was arrested for the warrant and also charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Resisting Arrest. Several other individuals were at the residence at that time and was also arrested. Those individuals included Spenser Lane Myers, 29 of Flat Rock, Rickey Lionel Rogers Jr., 34 of Fort Payne, and Kimberly Dawn Haston, 23 of Henagar were charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd, and Hindering Prosecution 2nd.

            Chief Deputy Michael Edmondson says “These deputies did a great job on being observant of their surroundings and making these arrest. While deputies are out on patrol making calls and being observant that’s what makes these arrest possible.”
