Weekend Drug Bust
Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:
Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports the arrest of four individuals on a variety of drug charges after a search of a residence turned up 25 pounds of Marijuana on Highway 75 in the Painter community. DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Geraldine Police Department went to the residence after numerous complaints of possible drug activity. Officers caught one suspect trying to flee the scene and executed a consent search of the property. Approximately 25 pounds of Marijuana, a pistol, and other drugs were discovered. The DeKalb County Drug Task Force processed the evidence and four suspects were arrested. Ubaldo Vieyra Rojes, 39 of Crossville, Rogelo Durel, 26 of Crossville, Jennifer Dawn Smith, 33 of Crossville, were all arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Trafficking in Marijuana. Heather Cherry Lopez, 29 of Crossville was also arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance. Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking in Marijuana, and an outstanding warrant from Crossville Police Department. All four subjects was transported toDeKalbCountyDetentionCenterwere they await bond.
Sheriff Harris says “I’m glad to get this large amount of drugs off the street. Chief Gregory and his staff at Geraldine are always ready to work with us in these cases. Tips from citizens in the community led to this arrest and seizure. Our officers continue to follow up on information from the public and get good results.” |
