                                                Several Traffic Stops Leads to Arrest

 

 

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:

 

 

                Between December 29th – December 31st one of DeKalb County’s’ K-9 Deputies conducted several traffic stops resulting in the arrest of seven individuals on drug charges.

                During the traffic stop on Ivey Road in Rainsville on the date of December 29th the Deputy observed the passenger of this vehicle to be in a nervous state. During a search the passenger Lamar Daniel Bryant, 57 of Crossville was found with a black box that contained methamphetamine. Bryant was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substance.

                The traffic stop that occurred December 30th on County Road 38 in Fyffe, as the K-9 Deputy got K-9 Yogi to do an open air sniff on the vehicle, when Yogi alerted on the vehicle a search was conducted, resulting in a glass pipe and a red glass smoking bone being found. All three individuals Andrew Lee Gonzales, 19 of Section, Jonathan Tyler Evans, 31 of Rainsville and Hollie Nicole Reneau, 33 of Fort Payne were arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

                On December 31st the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a dark colored vehicle with two males and a female pulling into driveways of residences and knocking on doors. When deputies found the three individuals and after talking to them a search of the vehicle was conducted and a bag with scales, a small bag of meth and syringes was found. All three individuals Thomas Bernard James, 29 of Scottsboro, James Kyle Hairston, 29 of Dawson, and Laura Ann Wheeler, 48 of Scottsboro were arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

                Chief Deputy Edmondson says “The deputies did a great job on these traffic stops. Thanks to the concerned citizens that called in about the individuals that was going around knocking on doors. Anytime something looks or sound suspicious please call our office so we can check it out.”
