MEDIA RELEASE

For Immediate Release                                                                                 June 7, 2018

 Arson and Criminal Mischief Arrest

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:

On the morning of June 6th SRO Greeson was notified of a fire that was started in the ticket booth and in the old gym at Fyffe High School. The investigation of the fire turned up two suspects one being a 15 year old juvenile and the other being a former student Jonathan Martin, 19, of Fyffe. Martin was questioned at his residence and was arrested after admitting to starting the fires. Martin was charged with Criminal mischief 3rd and Arson 2nd and was transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center.

An investigation is pending on the 15 year old juvenile.

Sheriff Harris says “Thanks to the Investigators, Fyffe Officers, School Principal, and the SRO’s we were able to find these suspects in such a short time.”
