Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:

Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports the arrest of two individuals for the home invasion/robbery of a Valley Head man. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office received a call concerning a robbery north of Hanmmondville on February 14, 2014. The victim reported to officers that two white males forced their way into his residence and knocked him down and held him. The victim was taped up to limit his mobility and several items were taken from his residence. Prescription medications, firearms, knives, and a large sum of cash were taken in the robbery. The victim was transported to DeKalb Regional for treatment and later transported to Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.

Investigators developed information which led them to the two suspects. A search warrant was executed in Walton County Georgia on Wednesday by Investigators from DeKalb County and Georgia officers. Evidence from that search warrant and several other items were presented to District Attorney Mike Odell Thursday warrants were obtained. Jeffrey Tyler Harrison and Matthew Graham Tillman were arrested on charges of Robbery 1st. Harrison was placed in the DeKalb County Detention Center on $60,000 bond. Tillman is to be extradited to Alabama soon, as he was arrested in Walton County Georgia. Bond for Tillman has been set at $60,000.

Harris states “Our officers have worked non-stop on this case for over 2 weeks. I am so proud of the job they have done in making these arrests. The victim in this case is still in the Hospital and we hope to see him up and about soon. I know his family has been helpful in this case and also very understanding about what we needed to have a successful prosecution. The District Attorney has been with us every step and we are glad to get this case to this point. The Georgia officials were great to work with and I would like to say how much we appreciate the help from Sheriff Joe Chapman in Walton County and his entire staff.”
