Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit finds over 400 grams of meth in Multi-Agency raid

Yesterday (Sunday, June 23, 2019), at around 2:30 pm the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit conducted search warrant on County Road 3 near Crossville.

The raid included DeKalb County Narcotics Unit, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, ALEA State Drug Task Force, Marshall County Drug Task Force, Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Safe Streets Task Force, The Boaz Police Department, and Guntersville Police Department.

As a result of the search, over 400 grams of Methamphetamine was located at the residence.

Johnny DeWayne Croley (42 of Crossville)

Johnny DeWayne Croley (42 of Crossville) was taken to the DeKalb County Detention Center and is charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

This investigation is ongoing and further charges may be pending.

DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said of the arrest: “Very proud of our Narcotics Unit for organizing this raid and their ability to coordinate major arrests such as this with our federal partners.”

“Please keep our guys in your prayers as they work hard to rid our county of this poison that is ruining so many people’s futures,” he said.
