01/04/2020 Multiple arrests made during New Year's Saturation |

From midday Tuesday (December 31) to early Wednesday (January 1, 2020) deputies with the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and agents with the Narcotics and Interdiction Unit conducted a New Year's Eve Saturation in areas of the county to ensure safety on our roadways. Several were arrested for being in possession of narcotics and several others for existing warrants. Sheriff Welden said of the operation: "We were glad to do our part to keep our roadways safe during the New Year's Holiday! Several were brought in that were traveling the roads and using narcotics. The extra presence also served as a deterrent for those thinking about driving under the influence." "We also celebrated one year of a new administration, as we took office on January 1, 2019. We plan on working just as hard in 2020 to make DeKalb County a better and safer place to live!" Said Sheriff Welden. "God Bless!" He concluded. Those arrested in the operation were:
