Cattle Theft Arrest

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:

Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports the arrest of two individuals for the recent cattle thefts in Southern DeKalb County. David Grant Fulmer, 28 of Collinsville and Eddie Ray Fulmer, 31 of Albertville were taken into custody early Wednesday morning by DeKalb County Officers and agents from the Department of Agriculture Rural Crime Unit. David Fulmer is charged with 2 counts of Theft of Property 1st for the cattle thefts. Eddie Fulmer is charged with Theft of Property 1st 2 counts, receiving Stolen Property 3rd, Promoting Prison Contraband. Some stolen property has been recovered and the investigations is continuing at this time. Both suspects were booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center. Additional charges are pending at this time.

Harris states “We are glad to get these guys. The farmers were getting very protective and were concerned about something happening. It is hard to imagine how these people feel to have what they work so hard for taken from them. I understand how they feel because I have farmed most of my adult life. I hope this will stop the problem in the New Harmony community. We have had a very busy weekend and this helps us close 2 very important cases this week. We have 2 bank robbers and 2 cattle thieves in jail and we are continuing to work these and other cases. I appreciate all the help we received on this case from the Agriculture Rural Crime Unit. These investigators are very familiar with these types of thefts and have contact all over the South to track cattle and livestock movements. This is another case of working together with all available resources to solve crimes.”
