Ten arrested in two days on drug related charges

FORT PAYNE, Ala. - The first two days of June has been a busy with 10 being arrested on drug related charges.

On Wednesday, June 1st, DeKalb County Narcotics Agents were conducting an ongoing investigation looking for a suspect who had warrants for trafficking in methamphetamine.  Agents executed a warrant at a residence on County Road 386 finding two subjects in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. 

Robert O'Neal Cook (36 of Albertville) and Kelly Elizabeth Anderson (51 of Albertville) were both charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Agents conducted a search warrant at a residence on County Road 370 in Kilpatrick finding methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  Kimberly Ann Duke (43 of Crossville) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd.  Brittany Dene Johanns (35 of Marion, Nc) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd.  Heather Leann Adams (46 of Crossville) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Attempt to Elude Police and 15 Failure to Appear warrants.

On Thursday, June 2nd, Agents went to a residence on County Road 26 finding methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia as well as an infant in the home.  DHR responded and immediately got a safety plan in place for the child.  DeKalb County Investigations Unit were also called to help assist with possible stolen items found.  Brian Keith Harrell (43 of Boaz) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Jessica Deforest (34 of Boaz) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Jada Marie Stancil (26 of Crossville) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Loitering in a Drug House.  Joshua Wade Morton (41 of Boaz) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and 3 Failure to Appear warrants.  Jonathan Joe Young (33 of Albertville) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said of the incident: "I would like to thank the DeKalb County Animal Shelter, as well as, Rainsville Animal Control for responding to the scene and taking care of several dogs we found.  They are always willing to help when we need them and they show love and compassion to any animal they encounter."
