FORT PAYNE, Ala. - If you have never met Mr. Leon McClung, AKA the Bicycle Man, you are definitely missing out on one extraordinary man.

During the year, Mr. McClung gathers used bicycles and works on them until they are in good working condition and look good as new.  He does all this hard work to turn around and give them to children that may not have anything under the tree for Christmas.

Mr. McClung attaches a note to each bicycle encouraging the rider to always be looking to God for guidance.  Mr. McClung not only donates bicycles to our county but to several other counties as well.

If you have a child or know a child who is in need of a very special gift this year, please come to our office Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm, to pick out one that suits your needs.

DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said of the incident: "Mr. McClung puts so much love into fixing these bicycles in hopes that the child will always look toward God wherever the road leads them.  He has made this his mission and has brought so much happiness and pure joy to so many faces"

"God Bless!" Concluded Sheriff Welden.
