One Arrested For Drugs
Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:
Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports that on July 17th the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office had received calls from concerned citizens about drug activity going on at a residence on County Road 9049 in Valley Head. DeKalb County Deputies and Alabama State Troopers went to the residence and with a consent to search the home they found a meth lab and materials to make meth. The Drug Task Force and DHR workers were called to the home due to the presence of a small child and other people. The child was removed and placed with a family member. Sherry Denise Gravitt, 37 of Valley Head, was arrested and charged with Manufacture of a Controlled Substance 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Gravitt was transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center where she awaits bond. Sheriff Harris states “this arrest was made possible because of all the reports of drug activity from the concerned citizens. We always hate to see small children in this situation, we are just glad to see that the child is with family now.”
