Spice at School
Sheriff Jimmy Harris states as follows:
Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports that on September 12 at Crossville High School a 15 year old brought spice to the school. The 15 year old and a 16 year old smoked the spice. The 16 year old had a medical reaction to the spice and went to the School Resource Officer Rene Ramos, at which time the Ambulance was called and the 16 year old was transported to Marshall Medical Center South where he was treated and released. The School Resource Officer Ramos also contacted the Drug Task Force. The Drug Task Force assisted Ramos on this case and the investigation is still on going. The 15 year old was charged with Unlawful Distribution of Controlled Substance and Tampering with Evidence, the 16 year old was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Public Intoxication. Both were transported by DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office to the Juvenile Probation Office in Fort Payne. Sheriff Harris states “This is another case showing the importance of the School Resource Officer’s and what they do for our schools.” |
